Experience
I have been an au-pair in Italy to children of three years old and eleven years old and loved helping the kids learn English through play and study. I also have many younger brothers so I am good with kids! I am currently at a 2:1 level in my university studies in ecology and biology (an equivalent to 7/10 in the Dutch system), and can give references if needed. I can help in any area of biology to pre-university level but my specialties are in environmental biology at university level. I also have an A-level in modern history with a focus on political history, but can help out in any area, especially historical writing and essay skills. I want to tutor as a way to gain experience for my CV and because I miss helping kids!

Hobbies
My main hobby is definitely reading! I read a variety of things from sci-fi and fantasy to historical and anthropological and political non-fiction - although my favourite author will always be Terry Pratchett. I also have passions for botany, zoology and the biological sciences, and am hoping to enter a career in evolutionary botany. I also love music and play the flute, although I wasn't able to bring it with me to Leiden. As previously mentioned I have studied history and have a real interest in the modern period, although I have studied many different time periods and find them all fascinating. I studied Latin for five years, and so also have a good appreciation for ancient history, plus a better understanding of etymology! I also mentioned that I was an au-pair in Italy and have a lot of younger brothers (4, to be exact, ranging from 6 years old to 18 years old!), and that I miss working with children. I really enjoy how energetic kids can be, and I miss teaching! It is really satisfying helping people understand new things - whatever the age.
