Experience
For almost two years, I have enjoyed teaching English to children. I regularly copy-edit and provide advice on academic writing, including bachelor and master theses. I have also been mentoring and tutoring high school and university students for the past five years. This has involved supporting them pastorally, offering advice on study skills and helping them with their academic work. I also previously taught Spanish to primary school children. I am a native speaker of English (London, UK) and Cambridge graduate. Currently, I'm training to teach English as a foreign language (TEFL qualification) alongside studying for my Research Masters degree in Developmental Psychology (University of Leiden). My teacher training includes lesson planning, effective teaching methods, extensive revision of English grammar, communication skills and how to tailor classes to the needs of individuals. I completed my Bachelors at the University of Cambridge, where we undergo vigorous training in academic skills, especially writing, alongside mastering our discipline. I benefit from a broad education having read psychology, cognitive neuroscience, statistics, neurobiology, biological anthropology and the history of science and medicine. By working as a teacher, I am able to pass the wealth of my experience on to other students! I'm passionate about access to education and have supported many students in writing personal statements/letters of motivation as they prepare applications for higher education. I offer help with applications for free to all my students.

Hobbies
On a personal note, I regularly practice yoga and meditation. I learned from my time at Cambridge that mental wellbeing is incredibly important for personal and academic success! I also enjoy watching live music and relaxing with friends. And I love to bake vegan cakes (and eat them too!). I'm also a language learner myself. At the moment, I'm trying hard to learn Dutch so I can integrate better here in the Netherlands.
